Are you ready to own Data Management? PointRight is seeking a Data Manager to join our Analytics team. This position reports to the Director of Analytics. The job will entail extraction and maintenance of large data sets from multiple data sources, heavy data management/manipulation, and reporting of data outputs.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for organizing, storing and analyzing data as efficiently as possible, under security standards
  • Write database queries and report query trends and data/query metrics to the Analytics team
  • Meet with the Analytics team members to understand ongoing projects and required inputs
  • Work with the Analytics team to integrate the application of QC and analysis specifications
  • Work with the Analytics team to design, develop, and implement reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) regarding software project progress and status
  • Integrate completed team-level reports into the software projects TFS dashboards
  • Collaborate with the Analytics team to discuss any data problems that may arise and develop potential solutions
  • Help analysts perform everyday data-related tasks or retrieve special reports or data sets effectively without risking any data loss
  • Develop solutions to combine internal and external data sets to solve problems and to create insights into data
  • Identify analytic and reporting opportunities to help drive improved business performance and enhanced insight
  • Contribute to the evaluation of data management and visualization technologies/tools
  • Develop data management policies
  • Review company’s pre-existing data management policies to make sure that they are up to date and effective and revise as necessary
  • Establish rules and procedures so that information can be shared with executives securely and responsibly


Basic Qualifications:

  • Thorough and proven understanding of the principles of data management and administration
  • Familiar with modern databases, IT systems and Microsoft Office software suite
  • Experience in scripting technologies
  • Able to translate complex research processes into well-scoped data sets
  • Able to prioritize conflicting demands and work well in frequent context switching
  • Passion for concise and thorough documentation
  • Passion for data and technology
  • Able to think big picture about data management and the linking of different data sources
  • Proficient at digesting and analyzing large amounts of data
  • Basic analytic skills and strong deductive reasoning skills
  • Desire to remain informed of new developments in IT and database skills relevant to the industry
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both as an individual contributor and as a team member
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Information Systems or related academic discipline preferred, or equivalent work experience combined with a relevant industry experience
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • Experience with SQL Server 2014 or 2016
  • Experience in SQL development in SQL Server
  • Experience in Python, Excel, Word
  • Experience in visualization frameworks (Power BI, Google Studio)
  • Experience in R a plus
  • Experience in installing, configuring, and using Hadoop ecosystem components a plus
  • Working knowledge of APIs a plus
  • Experience working cross-functionally
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, quickly pivoting environment
  • Healthcare industry experience a plus (healthcare technology, analytics, etc.)
  • Experience working with agile software development teams a plus
