Release Engineer (Development)

POSITION: Release Engineer (Development)

 

As a Release Engineer you'll use your strong technical ability and your skills at understanding complex systems in order to drive product releases. You'll work with other release engineers, developers, QA teams, and product managers to ensure that PointRight's products are delivered with a repeatable and auditable process.
Responsibilities:

• Work with the core software team to determine build requirements for all our products.
• Design, develop, document and maintain scripts for our build and validation infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain test tools and scripts for automating unit and system tests.
• Integrate builds with unit tests and system tests into a unified framework.
• Research external technologies for integration into existing or a new infrastructure.
• Maintain and monitor daily builds and release builds.
• Run on-demand custom builds.

Requirements:
• BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or other technical field.
• 5+ years experience in software engineering, release engineering, and/or configuration management.
• Strong familiarity with software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems. PVCS and Team Track experience highly desired
• Skill with one or more scripting languages.
• Experience with build management tools
• Experience building ASP .NET and Oracle applications.
• Ability to work well with developers, test engineers, and non-engineering personnel.
• Extensive knowledge of Windows Workstation and Server Operating System configuration related to the following:
o IIS 5.0 and IIS 6.0 Web Server Services and later
o SSL Certificates and HTTPS web site deployment
o Windows XP, Window 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server
o Active Directory, specifically related to assigning permissions, roles and configuring specialized user and group accounts
o Web Services Deployment
o Windows Application Deployment
o Third Party tools and components deployment (PDF, Charting Tools, etc)
o Oracle 10.1 Database and later
